Fines and penalties for non-compliance with the Fire Protection Act no. 314/2001 Coll.
Fines and penalties may be imposed on a legal entity or a natural person entrepreneur (sole trader) by various institutions, up to three years from the date of the breach of the obligation. Fire protection is a set of measures and activities aimed at preventing fires and ensuring the safety of people, property, and the environment. District Directorate – up to EUR 8 298
For basic disregard or violation of the provisions of the law such as:
– failure to carry out a preventive fire inspection
– failure to set up fire watches
– failure to train staff
– failure to draw up documentation on fire protection

For basic disregard or violation of the provisions of the law such as:
– failure to carry out regular inspections of the condition of fire safety equipment
– failure to set up a firefighting unit
– failure to mark escape exits
– failure to comply with the principles of storage, storage and handling of flammable substances

Regional Directorate – up to EUR 16 596
For basic disregard or violation of the provisions of the law such as:
– failure to ensure the readiness and operability of the fire brigade and its material and technical equipment
– the abolition of the fire brigade or a reduction in its number
– failure to comply with obligations arising from measures imposed by the regional directorate
Ministry – up to EUR 16 596
For basic disregard or violation of the provisions of the law such as:
– Acting in violation of a decision prohibiting the manufacture of products showing serious deficiencies in terms of fire safety, their marketing and importation
– carrying out training without authorisation
District Headquarters – offence
a fine of up to EUR 99
For basic disregard or violation of the provisions of the law such as:
– failure to install fire safety equipment
– failing to ensure that fire-technical installations are inspected
– failure to report a fire in the premises to the District Headquarters
– failing to ensure that chimneys are professionally tested

District Headquarters – offence
a fine of up to EUR 165
For basic disregard or violation of the provisions of the law such as:
– misuse of the emergency call line
– damaging or removing fire-fighting equipment
– failure to ensure that fire safety requirements for buildings are addressed and complied with
– failure to provide assistance in connection with fire-fighting

District Headquarters – offence (natural person)
a fine of up to EUR 331
For basic disregard or violation of the provisions of the law such as:
– violation of orders or prohibitions concerning the handling of open flames
– failure to allow the fire brigade to enter the property when fighting a fire
– carrying out activities for the exercise of which he is not specifically authorised
– burning vegetation, herbs, shrubs and trees

Block fines – up to EUR 100
The District Directorate may sanction with a block fine all the above mentioned offences and also for failure to respect the exclusion of a thing from use. In addition to the fine, such non-compliance may also result in the suspension of operations.
