As part of the Silvanus project focusing on forest fires, another demonstration of firefighting technology took place, this time in the village of Krásná in the Czech Republic. The activity of the firefighting units was divided into 4 segments, in which the forces and means of the rescue service were represented.
The module for extinguishing forest fires, composed of CZS 15 Triton, CZS 40 Titan and CV 40 Taurus tankers, was supplemented by a quad bike, which, as part of the training, provided transport of material to the “fire site”. Due to the extra water volume, CV 40 was used primarily as a pumping station, to which water was transported in a shuttle manner by tankers. In contrast, the dimensionally smallest tanker, which excels in excellent manoeuvrability even in terrain with high elevation, was deployed as a reconnaissance vehicle in a pre-selected area, where it carried out continuous monitoring of the intervention site.

Two large-capacity FIREFLEX tanks, which are commonly used to fill bambi bags for helicopters, served as a pumping station and water reservoir in terrain where the passage of equipment is no longer possible.
This time we even enriched the firefighting exercise with a pair of firefighting robots Rhyno and Colossus. With Rhyno we simulated the extinguishing of a forest fire and Colossus this time demonstrated its skills in transporting cargo over forest terrain and in transporting an injured person from the forest undergrowth.

At the exercise we also demonstrated the OPTIX camera, which is used for automatic detection of forest fires, where the camera helped to detect a simulated fire and thus inform the units for intervention.
