Fire safety or fire protection (OPP) is a set of measures, duties, and systems aimed at preventing fires and protecting health, lives, and property.

The employer is responsible for ensuring fire protection (FP) in the workplace. According to Act No. 314/2001 Coll. on Fire Protection, the employer is obliged to create conditions for effective fire protection, ensure the preparation of fire safety documentation, conduct employee training, and implement both technical and organizational measures to reduce the risk of fire. The specific obligations may vary depending on the nature and category of the workplace activities.
