LOVESTREAM 2026: When Festival Safety Starts Before the First Concert

LOVESTREAM is one of the largest music festivals in Slovakia, welcoming tens of thousands of visitors every year. However, an unforgettable festival experience depends on much more than the music lineup, technology, and event organization. Behind the scenes, extensive safety measures play a crucial role. This year, we were proud to be part of the event as the partner responsible for fire protection across the entire festival site.

Ensuring fire safety at an event attended by more than 100,000 people requires thorough preparation, coordination, and continuous supervision. The festival grounds were equipped with fire extinguishers and fire blankets strategically placed throughout key locations.

What Did Our Fire Protection Operation Look Like in Practice?

Behind the safe and smooth operation of the festival stood dozens of professionals, specialized equipment, and continuous oversight throughout the entire event:

more than 30 members of our team carried out daily pedestrian fire patrols across the festival grounds,
firefighting vehicles remained on standby for immediate response throughout the event,
we provided dust suppression and water distribution, including refilling IBC water tanks for festival partners,
we continuously monitored the site and ensured compliance with fire safety measures,
we coordinated safety activities to ensure that everything ran safely, smoothly, and without complications.

Safety Is a Team Effort

An event of this scale is never the success of a single organization. Special thanks go to BDM Group for their excellent cooperation in coordinating safety measures and to AP Rescue for the professional provision of medical services. Effective communication, mutual trust, and the readiness of all teams involved are essential to ensuring that an event can operate smoothly, even in unexpected situations.

Our greatest appreciation, however, goes to our own team. At a festival, there are no rigidly defined roles. One moment you are refilling fire extinguishers, the next you are coordinating firefighting units, communicating with event partners, or helping colleagues wherever support is needed. Every team member contributed to ensuring that safety was delivered without compromise. It is this willingness to help, flexibility, and strong team spirit that enables us to successfully manage even the most demanding events.

Smart & Green Buildings 2026: New challenges in fire safety and digitalization in practice

At the beginning of June, we took part in the SMART & GREEN BUILDINGS 2026 conference (June 2–3, 2026), which once again confirmed that the future of modern buildings lies in the intersection of technology, sustainability, and safety. The program delivered a wide range of current topics, practical insights, and discussions reflecting the challenges faced today by developers, facility managers, and technical specialists.

From expert insight to practice: how we approach fire safety today

We are especially proud that our CEO was part of the expert block focused on fire safety in buildings. In the presentation “FIRETEST 2026: How do new technologies respond to fire?”, the focus was on the results of real-life fire tests of photovoltaic systems and battery storage units conducted in cooperation with fire and rescue services. The session highlighted how modern energy technologies behave in fire scenarios and emphasized the importance of properly designed detection and suppression systems. A key message was the need to reflect new risks not only during the design phase, but also throughout building operation and management.

At our booth, we placed a strong emphasis on digital solutions, particularly RESQ App – a tool for managing fire protection documentation and records of technical equipment (VTZ). Visitors were particularly interested in practical demonstrations showing how the application simplifies compliance management, streamlines documentation, and reduces the risk of errors or missed deadlines. Alongside this, discussions naturally extended to our broader services, such as preventive inspections and support in eliminating identified deficiencies, with digitalization emerging as one of the most relevant topics across conversations.

The world’s largest exhibition focused on fire protection, rescue services, and occupational safety – INTERSCHUTZ 2026 in Hannover – once again demonstrated where the future of protecting lives, property, and health is heading. The latest technologies, leading manufacturers, and industry experts came together in one place to jointly define new safety standards. For us at 3MON, it was not just about attending a prestigious event – the goal was clear: to gain insight into innovations that provide a competitive advantage over traditional solutions and to identify technologies we can bring to our clients in Slovakia. What we initially came with as expectations quickly turned into concrete inspiration on how to push the boundaries of safety even further.

Robotics in Action: When Technology Protects Lives

Robotics was one of the most prominent themes across the entire exhibition. Modern firefighting robots are no longer just an addition but are increasingly taking over tasks in hazardous environments where the risk to humans is too high. Beyond individual solutions, a broader trend was evident – the exhibition featured a wide range of new robots of various sizes, from compact units to robust machines designed for active firefighting. The new generation of the Colossus robot by SHARK Robotics introduced more powerful motors, an improved chassis, and significantly enhanced camera and communication systems. Another notable advancement was the First Mover robot by BS Engineering, which, in addition to vehicle manipulation, gained the capability to actively extinguish fires. The trend is clear – minimizing risk for responders while increasing the effectiveness of interventions.

Innovative Firefighting: New Approaches to Emerging Risks

With the increasing number of electric vehicles, new types of fires are emerging that require specialized solutions. FIRE ISOLATOR introduced a comprehensive system for managing battery fires, combining a fire blanket, aerosol units, and additional accessories. This solution is designed to quickly isolate the source of the fire and prevent its spread. This approach highlights a shift from universal solutions to highly specialized technologies. In practice, it means greater preparedness for new risks across industry and logistics.

Rescue Technologies: Efficiency First

Significant progress was also evident in rescue equipment. WEBER RESCUE SYSTEMS presented enhanced hydraulic tools offering higher performance, greater precision, and easier handling. An important advancement is the integration of hardware with software through an application for operation and service, supported by a new, reliable system. This allows for more efficient equipment monitoring and even remote service interventions when needed. Digitalization is thus entering areas that were traditionally purely mechanical.

Update of the Fire Safety Design (FSD) Project for EV Charging Station Installation

The construction of electric vehicle charging stations has become a common part of modernizing residential buildings, administrative facilities, and industrial sites in recent years. However, as the number of electric vehicles increases, safety requirements are also rising – especially in the area of fire protection. Installing chargers today does not simply mean “adding electrical infrastructure,” but also verifying whether the building is prepared from the perspective of a Fire Safety Design (FSD) project.

In many cases, it is necessary to update the existing FSD project — not only due to legislation, but primarily because of real risks associated with the operation of battery technologies in enclosed or semi-enclosed spaces.

So why is water mist becoming an increasingly common choice in demanding applications?

How Water Mist Works

Water mist uses finely atomized water droplets that have a significantly larger active surface area compared to droplets in traditional sprinkler systems. This principle delivers three key effects:

intensive fire cooling,

FIRETEST 2026 – After the Electric Vehicle Fire, We Successfully Simulated Fires Involving Photovoltaic Systems and Battery Energy Storage

The safety of modern technologies has become one of the most widely discussed topics in the field of fire protection today. While in 2024 we focused on electric vehicle fires in garages, FIRETEST 2026 naturally expanded to other critical areas – photovoltaic systems and battery energy storage, which are increasingly becoming part of buildings, companies and public infrastructure.

Electromobility and decentralized energy systems are growing rapidly in Slovakia. By the end of 2025, more than 24,000 battery electric vehicles were operating on Slovak roads, with forecasts indicating growth to approximately 150,000 vehicles by 2030. At the same time, charging infrastructure continues to expand – today, more than 3,000 public charging points are already available, with thousands more expected in the coming years.

This development brings new challenges not only for designers and building operators, but also for fire and rescue services. Photovoltaic systems, battery storage and charging technologies exhibit specific behavior in the event of damage or fire, which cannot be reliably assessed through theory alone.

For this reason, FIRETEST was once again conducted under real conditions at the Lešť Training Center, where fires involving these technologies were simulated in a controlled environment. In cooperation with the Fire and Rescue Service of the Slovak Republic (HaZZ) and the Slovak Electric Vehicle Association (SEVA), we were able to take part directly in testing scenarios that reflect the current development of energy systems and electromobility in practice – and provide answers to the questions the market is asking today.

FIRETEST 2026 focused on one of the key topics of the safe transformation of the energy sector – fire protection in the field of renewable energy, specifically photovoltaic systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and related electrical installations.

The principles of safe installation of photovoltaic systems play a crucial role in the prevention of failures and fires. As the use of these technologies in buildings and infrastructure continues to grow, so does the need for a systematic approach to fire safety already at the design and installation stage. Particular emphasis must be placed on high‑quality project documentation – covering both electrical installations and fire safety design – correct placement of technologies, compliance with separation distances, creation of access routes for fire brigades, safe cable routing, the possibility of central system shutdown, and clear identification of buildings equipped with PV systems.

The objective of the test was to simulate conditions as realistically as possible that firefighters and system operators may encounter in real‑world scenarios.

he first part of the practical demonstrations focused on an outdoor wallbox installation. However, the wallbox itself was not tested intentionally – instead, the focus was placed on the electrical distribution board, which is most often the source of failures and subsequent fires in real‑world scenarios. An automatic fire suppression device MAUS STIX Pro was installed inside the distribution board. Following a simulated short circuit, the device was activated by thermal detection at a temperature of approximately 170 °C and filled the internal space with a potassium‑based extinguishing agent. This demonstration also presented an environmentally friendly fire suppression principle without secondary damage.

The test then moved to a pitched roof equipped with VITVOLT 300 photovoltaic panels. The fire was initiated using an open flame in order to controllably simulate a fire originating in the photovoltaic structure. In addition to observing the behavior of the structure during the fire, one of the key objectives was to verify the functionality and reliability of early thermal detection using the LISTEC detection cable, which operates as an electrical fire alarm system (EPS). The test also highlighted the importance of material reaction to fire and the development of new photovoltaic panel types classified as A1 (glass–glass), which do not contribute to fire spread. The use of older panel models made it possible to observe the behavior of existing systems under real operating conditions.

Another part of the test was carried out on a flat roof, where a photovoltaic system fire was simulated using the same principle of early detection, but with a different fire suppression solution.

The final scenario focused on a battery energy storage system (BESS) with a capacity of 25 kWh. The fire was initiated using an open flame to assess system behavior, detection speed, and the possibilities of early intervention before full fire development.

RTVS Report:

In photovoltaic systems, linear heat detection using the LISTEC cable was deployed. The system is classified as an electrical fire alarm system (EPS) in accordance with EN 54, and is accepted by insurance companies as an enhancement of the level of fire protection. The detection cable was installed directly within the panel area, enabling early identification of thermal anomalies.

Firefighting units subsequently demonstrated the extinguishing of photovoltaic panels using a fire extinguisher with a polymer‑based agent. After application, the agent forms an impermeable layer on the panel surface, which within seconds significantly reduces electrical power generation and thus lowers the risk of electrical hazards to responding units.

On the flat roof, in addition to LISTEC detection, a water mist system PV Protect Stop by MINIMAX was deployed. This system is specifically designed for extinguishing fires on photovoltaic roofs and for minimizing consequential damage.

During the battery energy storage system (BESS) fire, a key role was played by ASD Securiton Fire aspirating smoke detection. Suction piping was installed inside the battery rack enclosure, providing continuous monitoring of smoke concentration using optical detectors. Within seconds of fire initiation, the system identified the risk and enabled an early response at a very early stage of fire development.

FIRETEST 2026 confirmed the importance of practical testing of modern technologies under real‑world conditions. During the individual scenarios, valuable technical data and observations were collected, providing a better understanding of the behavior of photovoltaic systems and battery energy storage during fire events, as well as the possibilities for early detection and safe intervention.

The insights gained will serve as an expert basis for further discussions and potential updates to the legislative and regulatory framework in the field of fire safety. The objective is to establish rules that reflect real risks, ongoing technological development, and the needs of responding firefighting units.

FIRETEST 2026 once again demonstrated that the safe development of electromobility and renewable energy sources depends on the close integration of practical experience, modern technologies, and cooperation with fire brigades – a principle long emphasized by fire safety specialist and CEO of 3MON, Simona Kalinovská:

Floor Marking in Real‑World Conditions (OHS)

Floor marking is a simple but important tool for managing the movement of people and equipment in work environments. Properly designed marking has a direct impact on workplace safety, clarity, and operational flow. It is most commonly used in warehouses, production halls, logistics centers, parking facilities, and technical operations.

Why address floor marking at all?

Without clear marking, operations become unclear and hazardous:

pedestrian traffic mixes with material‑handling equipment,
safe and hazardous zones are not clearly separated,
visual orientation within the space is missing.

The result is an increased risk of workplace injuries, process disruptions, and problems during OHS inspections. Floor marking resolves these situations immediately and clearly through visual communication.

Floor Marking and OHS

From an occupational health and safety perspective, floor marking primarily serves to:

separate pedestrian routes from equipment traffic,
mark hazardous and high‑risk zones,
indicate escape routes and safe areas,
highlight obstacles, columns, and collision points.

During inspections, emphasis is placed especially on clarity, consistency, and up‑to‑date marking.
Damaged, inconsistent, or outdated markings are often considered just as serious a problem as their complete absence.

Basic Types of Floor Marking

In practice, floor marking consists of several elements that, when properly combined, create a clear and easy‑to‑read system at first glance:

Lines and Routes

– movement of people, forklifts, and material handling, supply and logistics routes

Zoning of Space

– storage areas, workstations, safety distances

Symbols and Pictograms

– warnings, prohibitions, and orientation signs, aplied directly on the floor

Colors of Floor Marking and Their Meaning

Colors must have a consistent meaning across the entire facility, otherwise they lose their function:

Yellow – routes, traffic lanes, work areas
White – organization and storage layout
Red – prohibition, danger, fire‑safety equipment
Green – safe zones and escape routes

A common mistake is using the same colors for different purposes or combining them without a clear system.

Implementation of Floor Marking

The method of implementing floor marking must take into account floor load, operational characteristics, and the need to maintain smooth pedestrian traffic. In industrial and logistics environments, it is not feasible to shut down operations and wait several days for conventional paint to cure.

For this reason, we use modern UV technology with immediate curing, which allows application without operational downtime and ensures instant usability of the space.

UV floor marking is characterized by high chemical and mechanical resistance, long service life, and a clean application process without odors or solvents. It is suitable even for demanding conditions at temperatures from –25 °C to +35 °C. Each marking is designed according to actual movement of people and equipment and in line with OHS requirements to ensure clarity, consistency, and functionality even under intensive use.

Celebrating 15 Years of 3MON in the Spirit of Technology

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of 3MON, we met with colleagues from our partner company JKBOZ to mark this milestone in a way that is close to us – through technology, live demonstrations, and personal interaction.

The event was opened by founder and CEO Simona Kalinovská, who delivered a short address and shared the history of the company, its development, and key milestones over the past fifteen years. She outlined why 3MON has been built from the very beginning on technology, a system-based approach, and continuous education.

A day Full of Technology

The program of the day was prepared not only for our colleagues but also for our partners from JKBOZ, for whom we wanted to practically demonstrate the solutions we work with. The program included a presentation of the MAUS system, along with a live demonstration of its functionality during a simulated fire in an electrical distribution cabinet. We also introduced the FIRE ISOLATOR fire blanket, NEURUPPIN fire extinguishers designed for lithium batteries, and discussed their possible applications.

Participants also had the opportunity to try out VR glasses, through which they could test their abilities in firefighting and first aid scenarios within a virtual environment. The program was further enriched by the interactive game Rescue Mission, combined with a competition for a wellness entry.

As an additional technological highlight, we showcased the Colossus firefighting robot, which arrived from France and offered a broader perspective on modern tools used in the field of fire protection.

Space for Conversation and Good Food

An informal part was also an integral part of the day, during which we made time for conversation and the sharing of experiences. It was precisely these moments that created space for personal meetings, feedback, and discussions beyond the usual work context. The celebratory cake cutting symbolically marked the end of the official program. Lunch was prepared by Andrej Duban, whose steak and burger specialties helped create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day.

The anniversary day was above all a meeting of people who stand behind 3MON projects and collaborate in bringing them to life. It offered a moment to slow down, reflect on our shared journey, and reaffirm that personal connections still have a strong place in a highly technical world. Three real fire scenarios that show more than theory can

Fire protection for wallboxes

The test will demonstrate how quickly the ASD Fire System and MAUS Stixx Pro candetect and stop a fire in an AC charging station.

Fire protection for photovoltaic systems

A simulation of a panel fire will verify the effectiveness of LISTEC and MINIMAX technologies in detecting and extinguishing solar system fires.

Fire protection for battery storage systems

The test will identify the most suitable detection and extinguishing solutions for the safe operation of battery storage systems.

„FireTest is not a conference, but an event where technologies are tested under real‑world conditions. It is the only place in Slovakia where professionals can see the actual course of fires, system reactions, and test results broadcast live.“

Why is FireTest so important?

After FireTest 2024, where an electric vehicle was intentionally ignited inside an enclosed space, new guidelines were created that enable the safe parking and charging of electric vehicles even in underground garages. The event showed that practical data from real tests can shape technical and legislative solutions — and change practice on a large scale.

FireTest 2026 has clear objectives:

verify new possibilities for the placement of early fire‑detection systems,
prepare technical background materials for the safe operation of photovoltaics,
identify key measures for battery storage safety.
